Things and Semi-open Commissions (info here)

COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN!

Here comes the longest journal I've posted yet...

I have a lot of stuff I need to put up here, but I just keep putting it off! I have to take pictures of some of them since they weren't made on the computer or camera. I'll have to do it tomorrow. Must... Oh well. I will do it soon... Hopefully. Anyway, I decided to open commissions, but they're not really fully open now since I need to put some examples up. I thought I'd put the information anyway and also I wanted to post a new journal... I'll be featuring some works from my favorites later.

Important Info About Commissions

Commissions are semi open since I still need to put up some examples.

Once I put up examples, I will do commissions since I'm going to college soon and you know how life is.

By commissioning me, you will help me expand as an artist and also support me and my art as well.

Note me for commissions, but read the information first. Also, please do not use chatspeak when you send me a note and try your best with spelling and grammar so that I understand what you're asking me to do.

Important Information:

-By commissioning me, you state that you have read the rules and agree to them.

-You have ordered the commission and paid me for it, but I still have all the rights to it and can post it wherever I want or sell it whenever I want. In the case of your own character(s), your character rights belong to you, but the rights of the commission belong to me. Commissions including your own character(s) will not be put up for sale, but if I ever think about it, I will ask your permission first.

-Commissions are for personal use only and may not be modified, copied, added to, sold for profit, or anything else. I may allow some modifications if you ask my permission first, but you will still have to credit me, of course!

-You get to request up to two previews of the outline of a drawing or sketch. The first preview is the one where you tell me about any major changes. All previews and final works will include my watermark/signature, but the final work will have a smaller and different one. Please do not remove this and do give credit to me if you decide to put it in your gallery.

-Commissions costing $30 or less will be paid in full before I start working on them. Anything over $30 will be paid in 50-50, meaning you will pay the first half before I start the outline and the second before I start the final work. In the event of a circumstance arising to not allow me to complete your commission, you will receive a refund.

-Once you have requested a commission and paid for it, you cannot withdraw. Please be sure before you ask for one so that there is no trouble for either of us.

-Please do not send payment until I have informed you that I am starting on your commission. This is to avoid any problems from happening and makes things much easier for both of us.

-Prices are only base prices and may change depending on the complexity of your request. (Prices are figured with a base formula to find an approximate price. The formula is “number of hours taken to create x how much I want to make an hour ($5) + the cost of materials used” for traditional work. For digital work, the formula is simply “number of hours taken to create x how much I want to make an hour ($5)” since the only materials needed are the programs I have already gotten. However, some work will include both traditional and digital work (like a drawing with digital coloring). In that case, the formula will be for traditional work. Prices may be negotiable. Just ask nicely and state why you would like to negotiate. If I think you sound fair, then we just might make a deal.

-There will be five slots to fill at a time. If all five slots are filled, you will be put on a waiting list. Commissions take time to finish and each one takes a different amount of time. Please understand that I, too, have a life and other things to do, so your commission may take some time to complete.

-I am unable to send you original copies of traditional work at this time. I apologize for this.

-You get to choose whether you want a .jpeg file or a .png file and whether you would like 72 DPI or 300 DPI (300 DPI may require an additional charge.)

-If I cannot do your commission, then I will tell you when you request it.

-Any photos you provide me with must belong to you or you must have permission to use them. I am not responsible for anything that happens if I find that you have taken another person's work.

-I prefer not take any requests that require a mature content tag, however, some exceptions might be made. Please ask.

I use Photoshop for any digital work (sometimes Flash for some animations or Illustrator), graphite/charcoal pencils for drawings, Faber Castell or Prismacolor colored pencils for traditional coloring, Faber Castell oil pastels for oil pastel paintings, and acrylic paint for paintings (very rarely, I use oil paint).

Drawing on Your Original Background or Character Coloring/Inking

I can draw on a background that you have made yourself if you would like. I can also color your character or lineart your character either digitally or traditionally.

$5 for lineart and $15 for coloring (both digital)

Not animated $3 for deviantART icon size (50x50) $4 for 100x100 icon size
Ask for price if you want a different icon size or you can figure it out yourself by adding $1 to the 50x50 icon size price for every extra 50 pixels.

Not inked $10
Digitally outlined $15 ($10 for sketch, $5 for outlining)

Any other variation on a portrait you provide or something else not listed: Ask for price.

For characters: $10 for portrait or bust, $20 for waist or knee, $25 for full body (all prices are including a plain colored background and prices may be a bit more if the character is more complex.) Add $5 for inking digitally ($2 for traditional) and $15 for coloring (digital). No backgrounds (white background) and plain colored backgrounds are included in the price. For plain colored backgrounds with simple things in them, add $2. Any other backgrounds, add $5 or more, depending on how detailed it is.

Still life (either made up by me or your own reference) $25 and up

Vectorizing your original portrait (picture, not something you drew) $25 for simple vectors (something that takes 5 hours)
Manipulating your original photos $10
Editing/fixing your original photo $5
I can also colorize black and white photos; either you tell me the colors you want or I choose them myself. Price depends on the photo.

Payment Methods

I can also make bookmark designs, business/personal card designs, greeting card designs, animated/non-animated e-cards, banners, website layout templates, blog boxes, and other stuff. Just ask and I will see what I can do.

Western Union (more preferable over alternative methods) You send the payment to the name I provide you with in the note and then you provide me with the reference number. Once I receive the payment, I will let you know and will start working on your commission.
For commissions of $15 or less, Amazon giftcards are preferable.
Alternative methods: Subscription or you may try suggesting another 'creative' method (Amazon giftcard, etc.)
I do not have Paypal at this time, therefore I cannot accept it as a form of payment.
